We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again; we’ll keep saying it until the cows come home.  No other choice impacts your water usage quite so much as your diet.  You could run your shower continuously for ten hours and use the same amount of water as one steak.  

Enter: virtual water recipes.  Because you need to use water to keep yourself clean, healthy, and alive, but you don’t need to specifically eat meat, nuts, rice, and other high-water items.  This week, we’re looking at a snack food that my mom used to make for me when I was a child: seasoned pretzels.


SEASONED PRETZELS

 

2 t garlic salt

1 T dill weed

1 T lemon pepper

1 cup olive oil

5 bags pretzels

 

Mix all ingredients except pretzels.  Once well blended, pour over pretzels in baking dish.  Bake 200 degrees for one hour.

 

Makes 15-20 servings.

Virtual water use: 2000 liters

Virtual water per serving: 100-130 liters
